Sououd-e-Melli
Sououd-e-Melli was the national anthem of Afghanistan from 1978, shortly after the abolition of the monarchy, until 1989 when the Communist regime was defeated. It was banned by the Taliban along with all other music and was reinstated after their overthrow in 2002. It was written by Suleiman Laeq and composed by Ustad Salim Sarmad.
